In Ayurveda, Pitta is one of the three operating forces in the body. It controls conversion processes such as digestion, metabolism and enzyme activity. It is hot, sharp, light, moist, slightly oily, fluid, sour smelling.
When Pitta is in balance one feels joyous, confident, efficient, sweet and brave. They like challenges and meet them vigorously.
When
Pitta is imbalanced or disturbed, it
causes heart burn, stomach ulcers, burning
sensation in the intestine, excessive
body temperature. The negative emotions
like anger, irritability, impatience,
stress, critical & sarcastic speech
also come out.
